    <description> &lt;p&gt;It depends on how you plan to brand your site.  .com .net and .org type domains suggest a world wide operation , where as a .ca type domian would suggest something local to canada.  Some folks are playnfull with endings like .ws (some folks use it to suggest dot web site), and .cc but these are really top level domains for different countries.  In my view, nothing is better than a .com domain unless you plan to specifically suggest something else.     <description> &lt;p&gt;In regards to search engine marketing.. if this is what you intend?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Then register all of the regional domains it will boost rankings in regional searches i.e. Google UK and Google CA&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;for cheap domain names (UK anyway) I&#039;d recommend &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.123reg.co.uk&quot; class=&quot;bb-url&quot;&gt;123reg.co.uk&lt;/a&gt; &amp;lt;- Cheapest I&#039;ve seen!&lt;/p&gt;

    <description> &lt;p&gt;you&#039;re just a bundle of questions, aren&#039;t you!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;.ca says to me that the company is based in Canada (which is how the law here works), so it&#039;s not quite the same as a .com which can be anywhere. Ditto the .co.uk -- they are only for persons or companies who are actually IN Great Britain.&lt;/p&gt;
