Modernbill has a built in whois feature and intergration to many Domain registrars for automatic registration.

If your planning to sell domains I would recommend this product. modernbill.com

To be hones, I've never seen the point of adding a whois search to a site unless you're actually going to do something with the results. I'm with http://www.domainpeople.com who offer an excellent templated domain search and registration service.

Suzanne wrote: are you a registrar?

I guess my real question is why would you want to do this if you can't provide them with the way to register the name they know is open?

http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Networking_Tools/Whois/

Did you find your answer? If not, check out MrWhois. If you would like, I can send you a sample html file that calls MrWhois.

Matt's whois is a pretty good one. It will look up the domain name to see if it is available and also has a nice wizard that will give you a list of domain names based on some variables that you enter. It is listed on the page that Suzanne listed.
