I bought the pro version of Ad-aware, which includes automatic pop-blockers...add another line of defense.

I (auto)run Ad-aware each time the computer is turned on...it finds something probably 1 out of every 3 times. I have had this computer for 6 months...it's found 459 different little things (registry, scripts, etc.). I don't even download that much.

I agree with eod. I have both installed, both can detect fiels the other seems to miss. If you have to choose one, for speed I would go with Adware, for power i would go with spybot.

Adware is your best bet, if it makes you feel safer, run two programs. I do a checkup with Adware every few days.

For those of you who don't know what adaware is...http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ I find them to both be nice tools but I prefer AdAware. Sometimes when you are checking run the program a few times. I have seen them miss things sometimes and pick them up on a second scan.
