Yo, TheFly, you have joined popin ads. Is the link that I post? Can you tell more experience about popin? Although, lots of people criticize the popin ads which is not good. I also want to hear the good thing about Popin Ads.

IMO, depends on what kind of advertising companies you join. For example, I have joined as a publishers in two advertising agent webpages. The first one gave me the bad experience. There was no technical support to me and lots of pop up from my webpage. And now, I join one Popin Ads website. This one give me the good impression. Not only they reply me immediately when I have questions, I can choose one move from 4 differnet directions. This can minimize the annoyance to my visiters. As a publisher, I feel popin Ads is better than other pop (like pop in and pop under).

The only reason for having an unannounced pop up/in/under is because you know that given the choice the reader will not view it.

I visited one site this morning ( dont ask - cant remember )which had small boxes in a sidebar saying 'click here for pop up info' which was being used to expand on information on the site. Now that was a damn good use for a pop up. I cannot think of any other use they serve other than to irritate the hell out of me !!!

well, i must say...i use a pop-in in one instance: dscpool.com

it only appears on the index page, while the "main" page is another url. That does have releveance to the page, as it's for an outdoor pool, which is, you know, dependent on the weather...

as long as its not an ad, and it information they WISH to know, then it's ok

For the record, I DESPISE pop-anything ads. If you need to grab my attention that harshly and invasively, I usually conclude your product is a steaming pile of ...

I know a lot of 'normal users' they have all found them so annoying that they complained to me, and asked whether they could be switched off (chuckling at the idea of people I know trying to surf without JavaScript enabled) I had to answer no...I digress, the point is: They found pop-ins so annoying they used valuable time and energy complaining.

Pop-up/under's are bearable, at least the user can exercise some measure of control against these, but pop-ins are not optional and always conflict with the users reason for visiting the site, ergo there is a high probability the user will immediately leave the site, ignoring both the pop-in and more importantly the content the pop-in is obscuring.

If this needs clarifying I will gladly lecture on the subjet for several hours, providing primary and secondary evidence as required

It doesn't seem you have learnt the most important thing:
Pop-ins suck! I wouldn't be a nice person if I allowed you to go away from here without knowing that...They will drive your users away, not gain you revenue!
