Hey guys.

Thanks for the info. I decided to subcontract this job to a graphic designer. It "seemed" simple enough at first, but I ran into problems because the images I was given were small/low res and looked really grainy ay poster size. I thought it best to pass it off to a designer who would be able to make the proper enhancements or create more of an illustration for the poster.

Thanks for the advice though

From the sounds of it you are not using a vector package to make your image, you are using a paint program. With paint programs you cant make your images bigger without loosing quality.

I would keep the proportions of the image the same as what the printers want and also print your own up on your printer after all they work in dpi too.

Your graphics program should allow you to create a document with dimensions in inches. I don't have time to look that up right now (or do the math...). As for printing, it might be a good idea to call up the printers and ask them what they prefer and about any other issues you should be aware of. Ask about dpi too.
