My official title is webmaster at a ski resort. my job duties include designing, creating, programming marketing, copy writing, obtaining and or taking photographs of the resort, sys admin (we now outsource our hosting). It addition to network admin, tech support for employees, phone system programming, network wiring, phone system wiring, tech support for inhouse guests and companies, point of sale, computer repair & maintenance. My boss and I support every system that uses a plug and has to do with computers or communication. All for the bargin basement salary of 31K. yup.. done both. I actually did get one local client, but it was a pretty sad spec sheet. I didn't get to have much fun with the project well.. it was still fun, but it could have been much more fun

Well what is it that you have tried so far? I find that word of mouth usually does the best Having a site up with links to sites you have done might also help

Not at all. I have competitive rates, am a local face they can look in the eye, and have a solid reputation for getting the job done right the first time. That makes a big difference in this job.

IME, there are so many different definitions of webmaster that the term almost becomes meaningless when reading job descriptions. The one tuffy posted from the dictionary is broad enough to cover almost anything! I think part of the problem is confusion among non-web people about what building a website actually involves.

Edit: And what tasks can reasonably done by one person based on an individual skill set.
