a phpws is like an forum and a site all at once. It has a log in , PM system , mods , admins , stuff like that. It looks exactly like what you are trying to do. Try to catch me on AIM or something you need some more info.

Hey I know your here for you site. And I will help if you decline this...but uhh, I am designing http://www.bladeswc.com an I am th owner but I only have one guy running it (I wont be) and he doesn't know much. If you would want to be apart of that let me know.

Otherwise here are my suggestions.: Definitly need to fix the colors up. That blue doesn;t suite the site and the game it is representing more of a FrozenThrone scheme.

Your header is fair, but the center guy is blurry, and the opacity settings on the griffen rider seems to make the image hard on the eyes.

Pretty much I would say focos on colors, and then considering what to do with the common squared look.

I used the same look on my site, but incorperated a DHTML menu, and made the right side use frayed/burnt paper to make it feel less square.

You're going the same route as too many other sites in this genre. I like the ofifical site because the layout is much more original than what most sites do. It's still black, but it's broken away from the boxy look and done interesting things with the layout (I like how the graphic illustration moves from the left to the right or the top side when you go into the sub-pages.)

Your site, on the other hand, is too rigid and boxy. Try not to be so confined by those table borders. Notice how the blizzard.com site doesn't look like a series of boxes, even though they are using tables for layout.

I do like that you've chosen blue for your bacvkground rather than black, and that header graphic has potential. The idea to have it stretch with the screen resolution is a good one, but it looks too distorted at higher resoltuions. Try starting with a bigger image. Another idea would be to make something as a table background, so it fills the whole screen but doesn't look distorted. YOu also need some sort of logo next.

I like the idea , and the layout and colors aren't too shaby either. If you going for an interactive design I'd go with a phpws seems to be what your looking for. If you have any problems with setting it up give me a shout , I'll what I can do for ya.
