Yeah, I'm trying to find some kind of data that would help me sell my skills to sites that do not work with Netscape or Mac or Linux.

I'm prospecting in an area of high tech were Macs are used more than they are in other businesses. So I need some ammunition to deflate the claims that:

"Everybody I know uses Explorer on PCs!"

The thing to be careful when viewing browser stats is audience. For a large number of mac and apple sites, for instance, you'll see Safari, Netscape, and IE at the top, fighting for dominance. Not just IE and nothing else. Also, there is no MSIE 6.0 or 5.5 on the mac platform, it's MSIE 5.2/Mac. So basically, be careful to take your audience into consideration when you make choices based on this sort of graph. The whole is not representative of the parts.

Do you mean a general site with general stats or a tool you can plug in to your own site? If it's the latter case, do you need free/cheap?

The Counter.com is one place to look for general interent stats, although I think they jsut come from internet.com sites which could be kind of biased...

I'd still like to know what "(Other) netscape compatible" is . Would that be mozilla maybe? Nice to see the big O gaining some ground So sad about IE
