Yeah, I might never use the embedded font thing or Comic Sans, I'm pretty conservative about design, download times and fonts, but I have seen sites where both seemed appropriate.

Sure, it's possible, but is it recommended? Probably not. It supercedes user preference, adds to load time and is rarely used to good effect.

I'd also avoid using Comic Sans MS, but that's because it's very over-used and smacks of amateur or newbie work, and as such is hard to use well.

yea, i remember a post awhile ago that linked to a place where you could force a download of fonts, inside your tag...the only thing was, there was only a certain number and they had to be on a particular site for them to be available...if i think of it, i'll post, but i KNOW its out there and possible

Here is one list of common fonts and a search for some other sites.

is a search on google which brings up some tutorials on embedding fonts, although I've never tried it.
