I just loaded it and although it took a little long, once it loaded everything looked great. Love the graphic on top - and thank Marcel for serving our country. (Or if you are Marcel, thank you). GBA!

Forgot to add - on dial-up, 800 x 600, Win ME, IE 6.0

I find Dreamweavers preloading code (i'm assuming your using Dreamweaver ) very chunky and inefficient, at times they don't even work :S

Here is the preloading code that I use:

<script type="text/javascript">

</script>

...I hope the code actually works, haven't had to preload images for a while :S...

Happy Preloading

reduce the amount of images or compress the images to a smaller size, try aim around 30-50kb per page (have to remember us dial-upers)

you have about 21 images, page displays after 185kb but total is over 200kb, which is over a minute wait on 56k modem

nice graphics btw

oohhh, sorry I'm new to this and didn't know that. So what can I do about the images that don't load sometimes?

The mouseovers are preloading? They seemed to be for me, though the rest of the page loads all in a row.

You can't preload images if there isn't anything else to load, though? Did you want the page to be entirely blank and THEN load with everything in place? Preloading is generally just for mouseovers and sometimes for hidden images that are revealed like covers of a book, sides of clothing, et cetera.

That's the link to the main page, I've preloading on all of them but it doesn't seem to be working..

The site's not done yet, it's going to be at a different host and still's missing some things.

you have the function in the head element?

And if the rest of the page loads fast, before all those images can "preload"?

I personally think preloading isn't a good idea in most situations, unless it's going to provide a superior user experience. Perhaps viewing the actual page would help identify if you have a problem and how to fix it?
