There is a way to get around this problem: in stead of opening the select box using your mouse, select it and scroll through it using the arrow keys of your keyboard. The font of the highlighted text will change then (PS7)

I'm using photoshop 5 and what davey boy said works, I doubt that in Photoshop 7 it won't work.

Have you got the "preview" option box checked?

Yes, but the only problem is that in Photoshop I don't see the change in my highlighted text until after the selection is made. So if I hit up and down a few times and a different font name is selected, as long as that select box is open, the font won't change. Could this be my version of Photoshop? (7.0)

Its VERY easy in photoshop...

Type out your text and then highlight it all, then go to the options bar at the top where the font name is written and highlight that. Now simply press the Up and Down corsor keys to cycle through each font

Hope that helps!
