I didn't have the newer image files up on the server. I should have checked that! Thanks for pointing out my mistake.

Mac OSX N7 for me, but IE5.2/mac is giving me the same issues.

Why? Well, because the images are not 271x200. It's not a browser issue, it's your image/coding.

http://www.3rdeyefoto.ca/brideandflowergirl3.jpg <-- 136x200

Suzanne: "Yes, they are quite distorted as their original dimensions aren't the same as the space they are getting squooshed into."

Very strange. The code simply displays an image 271x200 pixels. All images are 271x200 pixels. Some have extra white space on the right size to make them fit in the space. It appears to work perfectly. What Operating System and Browser/version are you using?

I know that more work needs to be done on this site. Some effort was devoted to it so that a wider sampling of images could be shown, then I was back on another site. It will improve, thanks in part to the comments from this forum!

I'm looking further into the 800x600 and navigation issues at present.

Yes, they are quite distorted as their original dimensions aren't the same as the space they are getting squooshed into.

The navigation on this site is atrocious still, and it continues (from initial incarnation) to lack consistency and the appearance of professionalism that I think is vital to a successful business endeavour, even a holistic natural light photography business.

The pages trapped in graphic format I'll not comment on, as this has been mentioned to you in the past.

The blurry text images really don't convey the professional photography image that one would think you'd want to convey.

I'd put a picture of yourself up in order to give a more personal feeling about your business which I assume is a photo studio. A good offer or discount is a good idea as well to have the customers or potential customers make the purchase or visit you more often.

Hey do you also know that supernatural woman, I'm going to check out my site to see if any of her pictures have infilitrated it.

It's OK - I did notice a glich in IE5 the text size on the prices page was gigantic compared to the rest of the site, it may be me.

Regards,
Simon

I hate to say it but there is quite a bit I don't like about this site...

Your thumbnail/photo arrangement is very unfriendly to 800x600 resolutions. In many cases you need to scroll down to the thumbnails only to be "kicked" back up top to see the larger photo.

The navigation is a little clunky, requiring the user to go back home for most of the options.

The big all graphic pages are a bad idea for a multitude of reasons.

I didn't take a look at the stylesheet so I don't know if you chose TNR as your font or if I'm defaulting to TNR because you're using a font I don't have.

The last point is that I find that the photographer herself is a little... overexposed . imo, this should be less about her and more about her craft/business. Otherwise it comes off as more of a vanity piece than a serious business site.

/end 2 cents

Thanks for the comments. A few of the images displayed on Love's Enchantment are portrait orientation, do the ones that you feel are 'squooshed' appear distorted? The controls on the Lotus Unfolding page use JavaScript to talk to a Java Applet.

I plan on changing the main page, for just the reasons you mention. I'm not sure what to do about the navigation. Listing all the long page titles seems awkward. At present you can go back to the main page which leads everywhere, check out prices and contact the photographer. Admittedly bare bones but it gets the job done for the moment.

Peter
