I totally agree with you on the header, I mean there I was looking at it and said @#@# that does look like something that I would of made Microsoft works foru years ago. So I trashed it and made another one, I think that it looks better.
Background is hard, I didn't want it just a flast base color, so I tried a little different, so that's up in the air whether I will keep it or not.
#@## I forgot to change the roll over colors and I have new icons to put on the side there, I made some in Photoshop I'll stick those things up there tomorrow (hmmmm, maybe I should of done that before I sumitted for a review). Oh well too late now, thanks for advice every little bit helps.

I have no problem with #1, 2 and 3 but # 4 (colors) are bothering me a bit.

*opinions below*

I don't think you should use the swf animation at the top. It takes way too long to load and IMO, doesn't fit the feel of the forum. You have the background image there that might work pretty good if it had a little work. I think I'd loose the computer thing at the top left though. It looks like one of those graphics that come with a Microsoft word. And it really don't have a point or purpose other than just sitting there.

My other thought is you have too many colors going any many of them don't match the maroon color background of the board. Like the pink and blue icons and light blue rollover color of some of the links.

I think I would consider removing the tiling background named red_back.gif and just let that be a solid color.

some suggestions.
1. expand your logo so that it either fills the whole page or gradually blends into the black of the page.

2. change the color scheme, this one is boring and hard on the eyes.

3. you might want to change the new post image from a computer.

4. space the tables a bit more, it seems really cluttered.

5. center your banner ad at the bottom of the screen, it leaves too much space to the right of it.

work on those and the site would look really good.

[1] - I found it a very wide on the home page, as in I felt my eyes straining after a while between looking to the extreme left for the Category name and then to the right to see the rest of the yellow text. Because of the colour contrast between the red and yellow I found my eyes always focussing on all the text (a good thing) but the wideness of the page (i'm on 1082*768) meant that I found myself looking left then right then left.... And i'm not a fan of furball animation (in the topics page). Hope these points are reasonable.

[2] - Yes pretty much.

[3] - Found it a little bit cluttered.

[4] - Didn't like the wine colour. Didn't like the furballs. Found the topics pages much better than the main page.
