Virtual Dub is an open source/GPL "premere" like video tool...It will do what your trying to do it for FREE!!!!! I highly recommend it....

You can't open video files in Photoshop. That's for Premiere.

I am not sure if this is too late, but you should check out this great software package:

I have used it to grab small clips of some of my larger home videos. Works great!

Hmmmmmmm...that's curious!

I just successfully did a print screen of both an .avi and a .mov and pasted them into Photoshop - Paint and Word without a problem.

Do you have a decent image editor? If not downloading the free one called 'Gimp' may be worth a shot.

How about checking download.com for shareware or freebie video editors?

Hey, here's a though. Have you tried opening the files in Microsoft Movie Maker? Maybe you could do a print screen from there...

Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Microsoft Movie Maker

Depending on the format, many graphics applications will open a movie and allow you to have access to every single frame.

Additionally, most video cameras come with software that will do the same thing, for movie editing.

It is best done through these programs for quality and choice.
