Fark I just wrote a reply, hit submit.. page not found, hit 'back'.. reply gone. Crap.

basically.. I just realised what you're talking about.. those titles skipped my eyesight completely even while looking at the site a few hundred times a day. Fixed it now. Thanks heaps for pointing it out.. And yes, they are supposed to fade into nothing when you put your mouse over.. got bored.

the white text (heading link) is on the orange headings in the main page/section.

just because it's valid HTML, XHTML or CSS doesn't mean it will display the same on every browser. Valid and compatible are two seperate things but you can have both. But as you mention they are your sites and you may not agree. it's good your keeping an open mind about it. good on ya

Busy: Yes i know the banner is confusing.. i really do mean to change it. The cut-off thing was on purpose but I don't like it anymore. As for what it's about.. it's about everything.. the name fourums refers to forums.. they're just general forums. No specific topic. Just created for me and friends to post on and chat.

"I hate it when people play with the functions, leaving it as an arrow on mouseover and removing the status link description.
you need to fix your hover color, you have it orange and the white text on orange disappears on mouseover but in mozilla its white on hover with underline, the main td cell links dont work nor change color."

Leaving it as an arrow? It's using approved CSS and actually shows a the link hand. According to CSS sites my CSS is compatible with all browsers.. but I can't install and check with every browser made.. so I trust the tutorial sites.

Also.. white text? There isn't a single word of white text on the entire site.. once again it's all using approved CSS to create black default text everywhere.

As for the mozilla problem.. yes, i'm a web designer, and all my professionally done sites at work are compatible with as many browser as possible.. but these are personal projects where (according to WebStats) 97.2% of my viewers use MSIE4+ I am sorry for other browsers, but i can't make it compatible with every browser yet still have the ability to create the site how I invisage it.

Spiffu: Good point about navbar color.. looked at it from a friends computer and noticed how light it is.. work computers, home computers, etc all look fine. Will darken it asap.

Megan: Installing the new PHP which has GDImage library built in soon.. then i'll have dynamically generated thumbnails instead of the "view image" link. As for the chick pictures.. i've only had positive comments till now.. they're not porn, they're not too harsh.. they're quite nice photos done by a decent photographer. I do understand how some females would find it offensive, but as they say "You can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time, only most of the people most of the time." Sorry

Phew.. thanks for the comments guys.. anything I can do to improve my sites i'm happy to hear about. I won't always agree.. as they're -my- sites and our tastes would obviously be different.. but I do like the feedback nonetheless, as it gives me an idea of what other people think.

Both sites look quite nice. I like the light look and feel you've created. Makes it hard to find something to complain about with such a miminalist design

Fourums
I really don't have a problem with the double title in the header there, although the way that graphic is cut off at the top made me want to scroll up for some reason. Do your visitors have problems at all with the clever titles? It's annoying to have to read the entire description to find out what a particular forum is about. Or maybe I'm just old and don't know the slang

X.Fourums
What's with the big hot chick picture? It's taking up too much of the space above the fold, and tends to be distracting. On a lower screen res it would take up the entire page. I also tend to be mildly offended by miscellaneous hot chick pictures but that's just me. Oh, and there's one on every page too. Quite annoying to have to scroll down to see the actual content and navigation.

I like the way the picture gallery works although it would be really nice if there were some thumbnail images or something to add some descriptive info to the index pages.

fourums.com - Pixel art is cool, but as Busy said, it is confusing with the two titles there. The color scheme is cool though.

x.fourums.com - cool bloggie style site, nice thing about those you have more creative freedom as you don't have to have a solid direction in the look of the site. My only real gribe would be the light nav text color.

fourums.com - the banner is very confusing in an arty sort of way and the name is very hard to read. having the top margin at 0 it makes it look like the top banner is being cut off.
I have no idea what this site is about, the banner name says "fourums" and the first thread name is "verbal vomit" so first guess would be an underground punk band. but further down you have a section on cars, so maybe the four from the banner names means 4 cyl, you really need at least an intro section.
pet peeve, I hate it when people play with the functions, leaving it as an arrow on mouseover and removing the status link description.
you need to fix your hover color, you have it orange and the white text on orange disappears on mouseover but in mozilla its white on hover with underline, the main td cell links dont work nor change color.
I like the colour schemes

x.fourums.com - very slow loading, that top picture is about 50-60kb and loads last, whats the point of the pictures anyway? they all look like they need a good feed
Again, played with the link settings
It seems like just a blog, the image gallery doesnt work in opera, it lists the names etc but clicking doesnt work, only reason I know its a link because in Opera it says "view image" in the status bar. doesn't work in mozilla either, ok nothing works in mozilla, the links are dead, the mouse is just normal and the mouseover columns (side links) dont change. so I am stuck in mozilla
