not really, ive avoided wifi and not too many businesses ive been involved with have embraced it. I'd check some hardware review sites for a start, with a keen eye on security for obvious reasons.

On a similar note, I've heard there are some new routers/switched hubs comming out using phased wireless arrays, directional connectivity on the move with a 4km radius(in theory) sounds pretty awesome 2 me.

Nope, I just switched Linksys products
I need 2 new non-linksys PCMCIA cards for my wireless network... Linksys doesn't work with HP...
Any suggestions?

I do use a Linksys
I used to use that, up to about 2 months ago, but then I switched to wireless

My router is passworded and the WEP key is secret

just thought id pop this up on the forum, cause I know nike uses a linksys router, and maybe a few others out there. Forwarned is forearmed, which is fancy speek for "i told ya so!"

PS: never really felt the need to crack a router, many routers are left unsecured with no password anyway;) DOS is pretty purile and serves no real purpose(its no real challenge either), hence why the kiddies lurve it so much;)

Nothing new really. Cisco router have had the same problem with DOS attacks.

I've already written a script to find Linksys routers. Not that hard. I started writting a script to crack the passwords, but got bored/distracted and never finished. (and for the record, I knew the people I was testing on)

I think cracking passwords is funner than crashing the router. Simply because the other party doesn't know you've been in there.
