That would be a nightmare having to use MSN explorer, that thing has more unnecessary graphics than a bad web page.

I'm on OS X, so I use Chimera and Mozilla, there's no going back once you've had tabbed browsing .

IE 5x and 6 are virtually the same in the way they render pages, so it isn't very worthwhile to test on all of them, IMO. However, an alternative is to use some site compatability tests online: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&q=browser+site+compatibility+test&spell=1

As for Netscape, as others have said, you can test your site with multiple versions of it, but I wouldn't install anything other than Mozilla on my system. Since Netscape is based off Mozilla, it makes sense just to install Mozilla and avoid the junk Netscape pushes on.

Finally, there are rumors than MS will end the days of IE being so tied into the Windows OS after IE 7. There are also rumors than MS will quit producing IE after 7 and only develop MSN Explorer. :eek: I sure hope that has no substance to it and/or they reconsider.

IE is so tied into the operating system that it really can't be separated that easily. That's why you can open up your C: drive, then type in a web address and have it load the page because Internet Explorer is also Explorer. Netscape is a separate program without the deep hooks into you OS, so you can have multiple versions.
