it sounds like a great idea, but it hasto be unique and properly done, i tried to do a student site before but found without thetime it wasntworth the effort and all the ideas that i came up with were a waste, if you can do...do it. whats the latest.

I've gotten alot of the HTML done. You can check it out here. I've got to do the image map for the side menu links, but that's the basic idea of how it will work.

Alright, I probably won't use frames and flash then. As for dedication, I plan on working on this for at least 75% of my free time. And I'll make sure things are done right, not hastily. I've "finished" the HTML for the design. By finished I mean it's put togethor. Gotta do CSS and a few (One, maybe 2) jscripts. After I do that I'll start coding the pages, starting with the database design, ending with dunno what yet Thanks for all the comments/support, I'll need it.

I do think it is important for people to know what they're getting into with some of these things. That is quite a big undertaking and you're going to have to have lots of time & effort to dedicate to it. IME, creating a highly successful site is all about dedication.

And the seasoned webmaseter is pretty sick of all the bells and whistles. We're cynical - it's best not to try to impress us with the latest gadgets but rather concentrate on providing quality content.
