The reason I said my PM is full because of the mods is because I haven't accepted their decision yet So I always PM them back asking why my post was deleted.

Maybe it was just a glitch.... I'm not popular enough to get multiple PMs so my box is emtpy or has less than 5 PMs... I've had 1 post deleted... but didn't get a message so maybe it was a thing at the time

The PMs are automated. It was a part hack added by Chad. The mods/admin select one of 4 reasons for deleting the post/thread and a PM is sent to the author, then the post/thread is removed from public viewing and placed in a hidden forum for future reference by the site staff.

If your not getting these PMs, it's either because your PM box is full, or you can't remember where you posted.

You mean they actually TELL you when they delete your threads??
I've never been afforded that luxury

Well, it's mostly PMs with the moderators that have been deleting my threads that I store. Which is why I thought since you guys are the cause of it, you should give me more space, hehe. I'm just teasing, I will just delete your PMs.

I agree that I don;t think that PM's should be stored. If you need to keep copies copy the messages and store them elsewhere.

I don't think the PM message limit should be raised. The PMs are a courtesy to facilitate communication -- proper maintenance by the owners should keep them low enough, unless you're getting 30 PMs a day!?

If that's the case, you might want to encourage people to email you instead.

You have a point about the spamming, but we tend to find that the spammers are going to spam regardless of any rules we set up. We did have just a Jobs & Barter Forum, rather than a more comprehensive Market Place forum at one time, but we found that the spam in other areas of the forums was getting out of control. i.e. If they can't spam in Market Place they'll put it in another forum instead. At least here there's a place for it to go and we don't have to spend half our time deciding if something is spam and deleting it if it is.
