First thing I would change is the colour of the links on the left as the grey looks quite drab, maybe have white changing to red or a yellow on hover.

With out knowing how much text there is going to be it's difficult to say but maybe have some small pictures of the school, one outside some inside?? I don't see the relevance of the flower though on the header bit?

Sometimes graphics are not the answer, using paragraphs of text are more inviting, ie:
