I assume that by "Europe" they meant "rest of Europe" - just a shorter name to put in a poll they had on the site. If you read my post you would have noticed that I did add those up for a European total.

As of my knowledge, Germany and UK are both in Europe...

I read it once and thought that you meant that all 30% came from Germany and Europe, then read it again... and now I'm cornfused... care to elaborate?

Nice to see that decent on the NS 4.x line! Opera is doing a poll right now asking where users are from - seems that 30% of Opera users are from Europe and an additional 20% are from Germany and 11% from the UK (that's 61% right there). Canada and the US only make up 11% combined. So, obviously there are regional differences when it comes to browser usage - as I've said before, NS 4.x usage is higher than normal in Canada.

Yeah, I think that it is about 90-95% IE on most sites. Here is some Google info.

I also checked my stats with SiteMeter and only about 5% use non-IE browsers. I suppose it's partially my audience, mostly just the market trend.

1. I'm a bit surprised you'd accuse me of making up statistics ... I use an accurate log analyzer called PowerPhlogger as well as SiteMeter.

2. Considering the fact I probably get more than those "100 hits" in a single hour and my IP is blocked from my stats program to begin with, I don't think that theory has any substance.

3. Slightly high, yes, but c'mon, few I know use anything but IE. A couple web developers I know use Mozilla, but 99.9% of the world has never heard of it or Opera. People use IE because it works and comes installed on their computers. I'm not saying Mozilla or any other browser isn't good, but just stating the obvious, whether you like it or not.
