Here are some other interesting tools for font embedding:

Fairy
http://www.em2-solutions.com/apps/fairy/fairy.htm

Microsoft Weft
http://www.microsoft.com/typography/web/embedding/weft3/default.htm

Fairy vs. Weft & TrueDoc:
http://www.em2-solutions.com/apps/fairy/compare.htm

Does anyone know of a site anywhere that lists which fonts are commonly available on different platforms? That would probably be really helpful...

i would say that too, for a top image put it in a graphic but i would use a starnge font for the textual content, use something liek tahoma or verdana or arial. unless you could offer it for download and then put it in CSS like this.....

font-family: somerarefont, tahoma, verdana;

therefore if they dont choose to download it then they can still view the page but in tahoma or verdana.

Depending on what the font is being used for, you could use it as text but specify an alternative common font in case the visitor doesn't have the font installed.

Hi Kyle,
If people do not have the font you want to use, your best bet is probably going to be making it into a graphic. Additionally, I believe you could put what you want to say in flash, which should preserve your font selections within the presentations. You could also offer a link to download the font, though it is somewhat doubtful that visitors would do that to view the site.

Good luck,

Brian
