    <description> &lt;p&gt;I can&#039;t comment about Australian hosts, but in general, you get what you pay for. Usually, the cheaper you go the more accounts are going to be sitting on the SQL Server, which means more chances for problems (people running bad queries that kill the server).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;$600 sounds a little steep for just database hosting. I currently use a fairly cheap host ($40/month for web/mail/database) and haven&#039;t had any major problems except for occasional slowness.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Your host should do daily backups for you (otherwise I would look for another host). If you want to be extra careful you could always export your data on a daily basis to another SQL Server or Access database.&lt;/p&gt;
