    <description> &lt;p&gt;IIS should run straight out-of-the-box, so unless you&#039;ve played arround with something, then there&#039;s probably a conflict between it and another program. Try closing down all applications (and killing what you don&#039;t need in the task manager), then start it again. If that now works, start each one up individually. If that still doesn&#039;t fix it, you might want to run a virus checker over your computer in case you&#039;ve picked up a trojan or some other nasties.... &lt;/p&gt;

    <description> &lt;p&gt;The article is applicable to IIS 3 and 4. I should&#039;ve mentioned: I&#039;m on IIS 5.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;That is the error message I&#039;m getting but, unfortunately, it seems like a different cause. As per instructions, I tried to locate whatever program was bound to port 25, but found none.
