Why, next to any other key, of course.

... To continue scrolling, you can press any key.

I have to ask, where is the "any key"

Scroll Lock key
A key on PC and enhanced Macintosh keyboards that controls the way the cursor control keys work for some programs. Many applications ignore the Scroll Lock setting.

Pause key
A key that you can use to temporarily halt the display of data. Generally, you use the Pause key to freeze data that is being scrolled on the display screen. To continue scrolling, you can press any key.

In DOS, an alternative to using the Pause key is to use the MORE command, which displays one screenful of data at a time.

No Megan! Stop! Did you forget what *they* always say??? DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!!!!

Ehm... anyway:
It's not only Google. I just used that as an example. Right now I'm at home, I just did try it at home (why didn't I come up whit that myself?) and... the pink does not appear!

Seems that Busy was right when saying it had to do with the screen's age. Thanx!

Quote: On a semi-related note, what do "Scroll Lock" and "Pause/Break" do?

Ehm... dunno. I don't remember ever using them...

Um.. no... what you do is hit the print screen button on your keyboard (over beside F12), which makes a copy of whatever's on the screen and puts it into the clipboard. Then go into your graphics program and paste into a new document. If you use alt-print screen you'll only get the active window.

On a semi-related note, what do "Scroll Lock" and "Pause/Break" do?

If I remember I'll try this google screenshot thing at home. Does the same thing happen with screenshots taken of other white items or is it just Google's? And is it only when pasting into Word that you see the pink or does it happen with other things?

That's what I eventually thought too. But the pink appears also when printing the Word-doc on paper.

I think it could just be your screen, past its best used by date maybe mine does the same.
I figured it was cause I had a cheap screen, way around it is save it as whatever format then change the pink to white in graphics program.
jpg's tend to change colors on heavy compression as well, my gifs, bmps and jpgs can go pink, yellowy or blueish depending on surrounding colors.
