    <description> &lt;p&gt;That definitely sounds strange, though that has been known to happen on control panel updates... If you want to &quot;lock&quot; a file, chmod it to its appropriate value and issue the &quot;chattr +i&quot; command at the shell prompt. If you need to modify it later, you&#039;ll need to &#039;unlock&#039; it by doing a &quot;chattr -i&quot;. Hope this helps!&lt;/p&gt;
