    <description> &lt;p&gt;You have three basic options, a router, switch and a hub. You only need a router if you want to enable a &#039;hardware&#039; type of firewall for filtering what comes into your website. Of the remaining two, you are better off getting a switch than a hub. A switch is faster because it allows more packets through at a time. Both are pretty cheap nowadays. You can also get something like a Cable/DSL router which is basically a switch with packet filtering built in.&lt;/p&gt;
