With that link I showed you just follow the directions in the readme file - I don't have access to mine right now, but I there should be instructions on how to index the site - I think you just have to click a few options and press a button and that's it. I forget right now... It also gives you code to insert into your page, and places to put in your template files to customize the search results pages.

The problem I have with remotely hosted services is that they're not always reliable. I mean, just because something is free and reliable now doesn't mean that it will stay that way.

What you do is go to their site and sign up. Then you choose the "look" that you want. The html code is then generated and all you have to do is add the code to your web page. You can see a sample search on their web site as well as further instructions on what all has to be done.

I use ATOMZ. It will index your site for you in a matter of seconds.

are you using a datbase?
can you use server side language (perl, cgi, php ...)?
