Hey I didn’t look at your code but I take it your just scrolling hyper linked pictures with some JavaScript, or something to that equivalent. In that case I’d say the degree of jerkiness would depend on how the users machine is set up. For instance the monitor’s refresh rate and resolution, the users graphics card, processor speed, and many other factors will display it slightly differently. I honestly didn’t think the jumpiness was bad at all, in fact I had to stare at it for awhile to see it.

I didn’t a similar thing without the hyperlinks; I was just scrolling some pictures. It looked very jumpy and I found that just compressing them all into a gif that just scrolled the pictures was much cleaner looking. Of course, I don’t know exactly how you would be able to get all the hyperlinks to work with a gif. Just a thought.

Hope that helps.

Its just because of the size. Any experience I have had with any program, the bigger the size the harder it is for it to move it.

I kinda tried to work out the same thing about a year ago, also with the DW timeline. Eventually I made it in Flash (although at that piont I had never made anything in Flash)because the timeline cause too much crossbrowser trouble in the end.

I would suggest that it is simply the size of the image creating probs for you. As a rule I would never put up such a big image. Can you split it up into separate images? Then put that in a table?

I dont like using DM so I wouldn't know what to say about the technicals of what you have done. Will have a look at the code and see what I can do for you.
