Constructive Criticism

OK...allow me to point out what I don't like about the site in hopes that you will get some constructive criticism out of it...

I don't like the words / phrases at the top, it doesn't look quite right... perhaps better spacing, or NOT bolding it, etc...

I think you should have better spacing on the menu bar... the words are right against the left edge which looks kinda funny

Try to put a bit more spunk into it... have more there for the user to see, etc...

I like the choice of YELLOW for the site, it's friendly and good for your purposes

Good luck with the site! Let us know how it goes!

When Busy starts critiquing spelling, it affects us all

Change the font to veranda

Verdana might work better

The site has a very "default" look to it - default font, default link colours, table borders, etc. You need to develop a style/scheme and carry it throughout the site.

I'd recommend that your external links open into a new window.

You have the basis for a good site. Change the font to veranda (easier to read and more professional looking), don't have the links on the left running right up to the left edge, create the heading as graphics rather than large text, do something about the text to the right of the logo - to me it's a jumble and doesn't really make sense, have one as a tag line maybe.

The word eclectic means a variety things in one package which is really what they have here. It could be a typo but I don't think that they meant electric merchandise. Not sure if I would have used that particular word but I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I saw Eclectic Consignment on the About page. I sorta like that better than AZ.

The text to the right of the logo overpowers the logo somewhat. Busy suggested making that text smaller. That should fix that. And I would not use the little lines that you have in that text. Punctuation would look better in my opinoin.

I would add a brief introductory paragraph above the featured items that will tell the visitor what the site is about, what they can expect to find, etc.

I agree about turning the table borders off but if you do that then it may be hard to tell where each feature is separated. If you do turn them off and it looks funky then you could consider placing the features vertically instead of in the two rows. And maybe stagger the images....like put the first one on the right side of the page with its text to the left and the next feature would have the image on the left with the text on the right. Just an idea.

You need a good font. Veranda. And bold your navigation on the right. Add a second set of navigation links to the bottom of the page with maybe a "back to the top" link.

The links at the top (home, about, links, etc.) try centering those.??

I don't see a way to contact you on the home page.

Actually, the more I look at it I think some white space would be good. You have a good bit crowded in a small space.
A little room to breathe may do wonders.

I looked at it at a larger resolution and it looks fine to me. I would leave it.

first thing that my eyes saw was "... new and used eclectic merchandise ..."

use a styel sheet to control your font sizes, the top section needs a smaller font size and font
maybe turn your table borders off as well
have you tried your links aligned right?
instead of using use table cells, use valign="top" to keep that cell up the top, also the margin should be controled by cellpadding and/or spacing, FP isnt the best tool to use for web pages, it adds so much junk in your code
