A free remotely hosted search like atomz.com might be what would work best for you. They use a template to integrate into your site look, which makes it fairly seamless (try synapticimpulse.com/firing/ -- search -- the results are on their server, using a template I put in place).

It's fast, easy, you can set the indexing, et cetera, and it gives you reports as you want them.

You could use VB ASp to do a full FSO search, but why would you want that? Just do a 'win-doze' search on the folder in file manager......

Yeah, there are quite a few. What do you want the search program to do? How advanced should it be? Should it search simply for file names, or extract TITLE and META tags out of the actual docunments?

On your computer? Why not just use the find function on your start menu? You can search by "containing text."
