But the best advice I could ever give you is Buy a book! Buy a book! Buy a book! Don't waste your time with web tutorials (however good they are!) there is nothing like having "The Bible" (Programming Perl, 3rd edition) besides you. It's written by Larry Wall himself (the author of Perl) and Tom Christienses (the one who maintains perl.org amonsgt other things) and it's a truly good read.

There is just no substitute for the bible. You'll thank me for it. I was reading tutorials on the web for two years before I coughed up for the book - boy did it make a difference! Don't make the same mistake!
