You'll find that with a paid hosting service everything will just be easier. They usually are not as picky about stuff as the free hosting services that I have used.

If you are developing your pages offline than a real host won't be much different. Yes you have to ftp your stuff rather than uploading them onsite. With a real host you get real support.

For domain registration you could try the following sites. stargate.com

I'm not sure what their policy is for overseas customers, but I highly recommend 000domains.com to handle your domain registrations. As for hosting, getting a paid host is well worth it and you'll be glad you did. Take your time, though. I recommend VenturesOnline - just switched to them and have heard nothing but positive about them. And what I've heard hasn't let me down.

Well, I'm in USA as well- if I was in Germany I probably would not go with Joker.com, because I would have to pay VAT tax.

u asked about a domain registrar. my advice would be to go with a biz located in the same country as u (ur n USA, not germany where joker is). try godaddy.

Shouldn't be too different. The layout of the server directories, the look& feel of the control panel, etc will probably be different. But other than that it all should work very similarly.

As for domain registrations, check out joker.com . I have registered a few domains through here, and have had very few problems. When I had one problem, their support rectified it within 24 hours. The price is another advantage - only around $11 US

I was thinking on going with dids.com

Considering The owner of that hosting service Owns this forum so I figured it was a safe bet.

I usually use wordpad for writing all my html anyway so that wont be a problem not being able to do it right on the site. Those are really annoying anyway.

Oh yeah, anyone also know who is a good domain name registration site?

well it really depends on which "real host" you are going with.

probably the main difference is that most free hosts have online site creation tools, but most real hosts require you to make your pages yourself and then upload them.
