What I had to do was:

(1) register my DNS servers with Verisign. What confused me was that I had to give them a name, and the only domain I had to use was the one I was trying to set up! However apparently you can do this...
I named them ns1.elandigitalsystems.com and ns2.elandigitalsystems.com.

(2) Once this had gone through you can edit the setup for your domain and change the name servers to the ones you have just registered.

(3) then you wait... After about 72 hours everything has settled down and now elandigitalsystems.com points to our site. (very much under development!)

It seems a bit bizare to me that you register name servers using a name that doesn't point anywhere yet but it seemed to work.

Have you got the nameservers pointing to your IP Address? You will need to do this. If you do a whois search and give me the results I may be able to help

um, just change the ip's for the nameservers, the ip of ur site doesn't matter. ns might want u to register ur nameserves.

maybe this helps, but i doubt it, question was hard for me to understand.
