To find out more details about the time capsule, please - also, I'd delete "details" or else say "For more details..." - this should eliminate the line break before event - hmmm, I guess that's not it - IE is giving me a break - I'm guessing it's because the TD isn't closed on the last line of content (the email link)

In fact, I'd rewrite that sentence - something like, "Find out more about the time capsule, and see how you could benefit from this exciting event.

the alignment of the links along the bottom of the page could be improved, I'd say - could you use a nested table with the contents centered? - it might get a little tight at lower resolutions and in smaller windows, but they'd just break and still look fine, imo

The time capsule will be buried by a local dignitary to be opened in 50 years time - this implies that the dignitary will be "opened up" - you might try a comma after dignitary or else insert something like "and is" there

So you can get in touch - I'd say something like, "In this way, you can..." otherwise, it's a fragment :eek:

As well as all this you will also - how 'bout, "In addition,..."? - in fact, since you've got "also" already, I'd just start, "You can also receive..."

Even more thanks again, especially to the Webmistress. I really appreciate you taking the time to re-do my logo, it's much better than any of my efforts. So I've used it!

I made most of the changes suggested and it now looks much much better than it did at the start.

I just need to add some more content and few more pictures and I think I'll have a pretty decent looking site.

If there's any more suggestions feel free.

I agree, with the yellow on each of the headers it will tie the design together better and give each page a bit more colour. I would also suggest making the text a font size bigger for those with poorer eyesight.

As I said earlier I think the first page would look slightly better if the capsule piture was positioned left or right with the text beside it rather than in the middle as it is now.

I have also done this which was my idea for the logo, although obviously I only took the flags you had and reduced them. Could be made to fit better but I think the font makes it more interesting. (Only an idea)

Instead of having the gray background on the little folder thingy behind the house where it says Irish Time Capsule July 2002 why don't you make that yellow also?

That looks much better without the bold text but....(don't ya hate buts;))

Since you don't have that much text why don't you make the font size a 3 instead of 2? It would take up a tad more space and be easier for those with bad eyes to read. Also, instead of having the paragraphs go all the way across the page, bring them in a bit. You can use the blockquote tag to do this if you don't already know.

And it can even be brought in further (don't know if this is correct coding but it works) by using two of them like so:

OR you could use tables to make your paragraphs shorter....kinda box things in.

I like the shamrock too. Why don't you do something with the flags at the bottom of the page? just a thought.

You know where you have the Irish Time Capsules 2002? I wonder what that would look like with a flags background??? just another thought.

Almost forgot, the yellow on the link pic rollovers looks much better than the gray that you had.

Hello again,

I've taken on board all the advice which is really appreciated, and changed the site, but I don't think it looks that much better than when I started. What does everyone think? I think I need a bit more colour throughout the site.

Also I'm still not happy about the logo, I could do with some more suggestions regarding this.

I like the logo with the shamrock the best. I just don't know what that other is - I think it's a flag but I am not sure.

As far as the rollovers go - if you are going to do multicolored I woul do either pastel or dark but not both. I recommend using an orange on all of them to have another color.

I've taken on board all your comments. Everyone was right about the text. I've changed it and it looks better.

I've added different colours to the top nav buttons. Which colour do you think would best out of the ones I've used or do you think maybe it would be better to have multi-colours?

I'm still quite keen to have the american and irish flag on the main logo but my graphic work isn't that great can anyone think of way to add them without it looking amateurish.

I think that the second logo is best but I would change the font to something more celtic.

I agree with everything else that's been said anout the text being bold and the rollovers needing some colour. I think what I'd do is actually have the images coloured in rather than a solid colour (eg. house - roof red, windows blue), if not choose a colour rathr than grey which makes it look very bland.

On the first page I'd have the text to the left and picture on the right.

The first thing I think when the page opens is......UNBOLD that text!! maybe use a larger font--not bold--if you are concerned about older people being able to see it.

I am not sure what that is behind the logo at the top. It looks like an US flag and maybe an Irish flag...not sure what the Irish flag looks like *shame on me* The red and blue sort of clash with the green and orange.

You should use the shamrock that is on the message board page in the logo. That would look good I think.

On the rollover links at the top...how about a faint orange color instead of the gray?
