In this case, try to config the avatars directory as "../../www/Other/YaBBImages/avatars/". Other directory configuration should be started with "../../".

Another thing to remember when you creat forum on Netfirms, you must set all your files' CHMOD to 755, don't do anything else as YaBB guess.

You need to put the FULL SERVER path... You can get this from running http://n-effect.netfirms.com/cgi/printenv
(I found this URL in the Netfirms support pages).

Therefore, the full server path to your script is:

/d02/sec/s25/a0007aky/www/Other/YaBBImages/avatars/

If THAT does not work, try just
/Other/YaBBImages/avatars/
