A product called Livestage from Totally Hip can do this apparantly, an interesting looking product for adding interactivity to Quicktime.

Hi Brian,

Yea, it's a bit of stickler, but I'll try and find out and pass it on. Staring at a blank pop-up with 9megs loading into it, is ugly and non-informative. I think the answer lies not in javascript but in some way of loading a poster frame for Quick time, then writing a track for the loading data. I'll get it figured out.

Hi Tony,
I'm sorry that I don't know the answer to your question, or even if it's possible to use a background with a quicktime movie. I'm putting a sticky on it so that perhaps someone else who knows the answer will see it.

Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.
