maybe you are right... i just want to get something that wont soon be old school. i'm sure i could probably stick with the t-bird, but for only a little bit more i can get the xp.

i am running a dual boot of win98 & XP- soon to be solely XP.

& yes i already have all that software. legal? well, of course.

Hmmm... If thats all you are gonna use it for, I dont think you need an XP 1500. The 512 RAM and 60GB HD are fine for graphics stuff you appear to be doing... What OS are you running?
My experience with graphics manipulation has been this: A PIII 733mHz-1gHz works just fine, no need to push it up to 1.5gHz.
Do you already have all that software? Legally ?

i'll be using this machine for photoshop, premiere, illustrator, after effects, ultra dev, note pad, the lil calculator, etc.

I'd suggest stay away from soyo... I had a lot of problems with them, they fried 2 AMD 1 GHZ T-Birds...
I'm using an MSI board, and its nice... LiveBIOS really helped with overclocking, because there are no switches to set, its all in the BIOS setup.
What are you using this machine for?
