Its hard when you want a certain thing to work on both browsers but wont, thee are lots of things, ie CSS, would be a lot happier world if everything did work the same, I personaly blame microsoft, they were offered many insights into whats coming up and going up with things but in some places Microsoft went opposite to have the market, but we arent here to debate this...

Its been noted your refreshy things are annoying, they are, and since your index page is the first thats seen maybe have a second thought, remember the average persons attention span is very limited (why do I keep making these long then?) what you need to do is capture your audience as quickly as you can, make them want to go into your site, tease them, give them a taste, and only a taste and use the revolving thingys inside.
If you notice on all the news sites they give you a paragraph and sometimes a picture, they have that to get your attention, and a link with "more", if they dont make that one paragraph exciting enough you will move on.

heres a trick of the trade (well photography) load your site, let it fully load, face the screen but put your head down with eyes closed, count to ten, put your head up and open your eyes, whats the first thing you see, and there is always a first thing, this first thing should be your bait to entice your visitor in.

Ok...there are a few things that I am confused about here.
Why in the world would you want to risk loosing visitors due to the auto refresh thing when you are only rotating two things? Also, you have a Featured Product(SINGULAR)....not products. If you need to rotate something wouldn't it be better to make a banner and use a banner rotator script thingy? I'll tell you what I do when I go to a site that refreshes all the time.....Leave!!! It is very very annoying. Like the saying goes....don't do something just because you can.

I also think that your refreshy thingy is keeping you site from loading initially because when I first go to the page the status bar says that it is done loading but it doesn't actually load until it is time to refresh.

So far that is two strikes against your site just so you can rotate two things that are on sale at another site....STRIKE THREE!!

You have a nice looking site here but in my opinion the refresh is gonna kill it. If you have to feature something why don't you keep it static and just swap them out maybe once a week or so?

I believe that you could come up with something better or figure out another way to display the content of the iframe. If this is a business then you should consider all of Netscape people whose business you are loosing.

You could do some simple rollovers for the nav bar but if you add any more bells and whistles to this site it might not work.

Good luck with your site whatever you choose to do.

Yep, dont use em , there are ways around it to get to work on the other browsers (since iframe is a ie thing) but the hassle that goes along with it, usually isnt worth the effort, a table does the same job, just use a description with a link to more.

A good free cruncher can be found here http://www.spinwave.com/crunchers.html it works off your pc files

\

i add WAY 2 much content per day tho... and i need the scroller...

y cant netscape just not be stupid? and suppor iframes?! thats what i wanna know... there has 2 be a way .. hmmm..

any ideas? or nav ideas ?

>>does anyone have an suggestions on how to draw more attention to the navigation? cause i agree that it could be a little confusing when the link is clicked..<<

Maybe have an arrow point from the link clicked on to the sub catergories. Also I think that fading effect could be sneaking in the sub catergories and people aren't noticing the subs. I just noticed you had sub catergories! I thought the links weren't finished.

site wont load in netscape4.7 has a 404 error and url is pointing to a .js file.

takes ages to load in Netscape 6 and IE5 on a 56k modem.

on Netscape 6 the bottom "featured product" has scroll bars, vertical and horziontaly, and keeps refreshing itself, really annoying.
looking at your code you only have body margins set for IE, to make your margins 0 in both, use topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0".

I also get a scroll bar at 800x600 on both browsers, IE's one is worse. the dates on the updates part is black on dark grey, cant read it on either browser.

the pop ups margins arent set to 0 in Netscape, so again usee the above in your body tag.

the "discover new music" box isn't aligned in Netscape, the ic is below the mus part

ill fix the netscape stuff.. thank you. as for the refreashing .. i have it do that 2 rotate the content in the featured iframe.. -- is there a way 2 do that w/ out the refreash command?

i think i fixed the netscape 4.7 error w/ the frame.js link .. i have no idea why it was doing that..

does anyone have an suggestions on how to draw more attention to the navigation? cause i agree that it could be a little confusing when the link is clicked..

i am not sure what to do.. maybe a little grafik in the box? so people can c the grafic change 2 text? .. hmm.. i will have 2 think about that.

also .. what is a good way 2 compress grafics.. cause i really want to work on getting the page to load faster.

thnks
