It's often hard to review a site that doesn't have any working links but we try.

I like the looks of the site overall but I think that it looks too small in larger resolution monitors. I would at least add some space to make it larger vertically.
Yeah, what is that image anyway? I do quite a bit of cooking but it looks like a jar with grapes on it. I would try to have something that has a little more to do with gourmet cooking. It also looks like the image is cut-off at the top. Also, your other pages will have to look quite different from this one, which is not good.
What am I supposed to do on your site? Can I order anything? Can I do online class? Can I contact you via email? I am assuming that some of this will be covered when you links are active but it is hard to tell now.
Coding is okay except for using all of those & nbsp;. Use a table or a spacer.gif instead.

A good start but for a more thourough review, please add some more content.

I like the main center piece, but for the colour concept, dark center piece shouldnt be match wit dark background

I've just learn that from my advertising concept class ahaha, but it will works i guess.

I think most things have been said but I like the colours but agree with Megan that they grey main background doesn't quite look right. You definietly need more on there and make the text bigger!

The only thing I can complain about is that it's very cramped vertically, and the font in the content area there is a little too small. I would also change that photo (what is that anyway? Some sort of ceramic bowl on.... a hanging lampshade???). Put a nice picture of the kind of foof prepered there or something, maybe a chef presenting a dish...

Overall I like the colour scheme but I'm not too sure about that gray background. Try a lighter shade of that greenish-gray you've used on the menu.

I have a scroll a 800x600 as well, I looked at your source code and your using a 10 pix margin for IE, why ? your better off have margins set to zero, at least the side one anyway, would/could nearly get rid of the scroll problem, to make it work in Netscape and IE, use: topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" or set these to 10 if you want ten. you have table width at 780, easier to use 100% or use 760 (have to remember default margins as well). also noticed the rest of your tables use %.

Its a fresh approach but a few things you could do away with, like the scroll bar vertical (as well as horz), its a little worse in netscape but there shouldnt be a downwards scroll as theres nothing for it to be.

I counted 4 tables in your code, (everyone has their own way ) I didnt add up all your height tags but couldnt see what was forcing it so big, the paragraph tags top and bottom wouldnt help but thats not it, did notice thou you have about 3 or 4 td cells with a height of "0" (zero).

you should also use alt tags on images, good to see your using width and height but alt is just as important.

I think its your css messing up the email input box, its there but is tiny. your using font size="-2" and xx-small in the same tag, which is it? because xx-small renders differently on different browsers, stick with font size -2

sorry this is so long, i babble a lot the blank section in the middle isnt a websafe rgb color, as it chances per browser, use a 20x20 image of that color as a background to keep the same throughout.

Your page is titled "home". Not very descriptive if someone bookmarks it. Also, some search engines place more weight on page titles.

Your URL is mollygourment.com but your logo is *molly's* gourmet. Could cause some confusion. Hope you bought mollysgourmet.com, too.

The "gourmet" part of the logo is too pale, it's almost obscured. I like the color scheme, but don't know if it's right for your target. Think it might be too subtle. That ceramic pot doesn't sell me on gourmet food. Show food, scrumptious looking food! That's what I'd be hiring you for, right?

There's slight horizontal scroll at 800x600. Yeah, I agree you need to spread it out some and cover more of the vertical space.

Why is the word "molly" in the lower right done in flash? No need whatsoever.

description.gif - When you make text into a graphic, you:

1) increase load time
2) make it impossible for any search engine to read or index the text, you need some keywords on the page

Where are you? "Anywhere, USA" isn't targeted. I'm presuming you don't cater to all 50 states. The shipping charges would not be cost effective.

thanks for the reply. i've had mixed reviews on the colors, but i think i'm going to keep them. so you think the layout is too compact? i'm struggling with changing the size, but it may have to happen.
