Yeah I was pretty sure that I wouldn't be understood. What I was referring to is that Vbull has a Default Thread View: that is usually set to 20 or 30 days. If you had a thread that was over 20-30 days old, they would not normally show up when someone clicks on the thread. So that it would appear that there are no comments or threads there so you would either need to change the default or keep them at the top as a sticky.

>>Hurm, I used the same color code.. *shrug* <<

Yeh but you need to make your logo a .gif and then you can make it transparent. This will make it blend into the background. Image color and table/cell/bgcolor may be the same color code but when viewed in the browser looks different. That is why you need to make your logo transparent (has to be a .gif to do this).

They told me since it was their error that they wouldn't charge me for it. Anyway usually things work the opposite of that.

If your host is great then that's good!
does not help people those that are looking for a good host.
(if you host has great support when down, and lets you know what
ahppens.. then thats ok.. long as its not all the time..)
ex: sure everyhost is down (now and then) **** happens.

Logo: Should be same color as background to blend in.

Your back ground color: Hue:160 Red:0
Sat:240 Green:0
Lum:41 Blue:88
Also make logo transparent so it blends in with background better. You will need to make it a .gif

Other from that it looks ok and should do the job.

-The Webmistress-

Wow, nice to know you hated everything about the forums ..
We know about the text on the bottom and some other things..
we will be fixing these today.

Quote:
Would it not be better to have the actual sponsors logos as it looks a wee bit contrived them all looking the same

We like the look of everyone having the same banner, and
have had no request from any sponsor to change that. They
all like it. But if they request that we change the look/layout then that is upto them..

Thanks for your advice/feedback

-mairving-

Quote: Really not much to review. It is just a vbulletin forum.

We just color scheme/layout/graphics....
Not just a forum, we have added alot of customer design and features..

Quote:
The layout of the forum is not particularly intuitive. I click on an index and I am taken to a list of various hosts. Does this mean that every host that sucks will eventually have it's own section? If so it will be very hard to see or find them.

If we get a bigger list there will then be a Index2, and so on... (just seems like the only way to go)... Or A-D, E-H..
Not a problem as of yet.. seems how we only open the doors
2 weeks ago.

Quote:
Also I see on your announcement that one of your sponsors is a host. What if someone thinks this host sucks? Will there be a section for them?

All of our sponsors are currently host. We explain that we
review host before allowing them to sponsor the forums. We
have people that "Hang Out" in all of the major forums..
and they have not found these host to be attacked for
anything...
If the host winds up getting a bad name for themselves, then
we will no longer be able to allow them to sponsor us.. as
the whole point of the forums is a place for people to go
and see what host people are talking bad about, and have a
heads up. We have had many "Host That Suck" in the past and
feel people must be warned.. we have lost alot of money
having to change host all the time because a host was down
all the time, or other reasons.

Quote:
In looking at some of the comments of people there doesn't generally appear to be much evidence given of a host's suckability.

lol, "suckability".. but anyhow, I have found our visitors comments to be very helpful, I will not name host names. but I feel that 2 of them have been shown to be ones I would never
choose, as they have been proven to be down alot/and or just " ".
Wouldn't you find it helpful to know if a host is down alot, or have very poor business practices?

Anyhow.. Thanks for all of your feedback!

<edit>I closed your quote tag for you to make it more readable</edit>

Hiya YHS,

I'm just commenting on colours & graphics for this one.

Too many shades of blue

Green bar with the 'home' button on it kinda looks out of place

I don't like the logo (but that's a personal thing)

Navigational buttons are very small and may be hard to read to some

Writing at the bottom of the page is very hard to read with that washed out look about it

Would it not be better to have the actual sponsors logos as it looks a wee bit contrived them all looking the same

Other than that it looks like a forum!
