Who knows any more? I don't know what Mozilla 5.0 is. Mozilla is only at level 0.9 now. I guess that you could see what displays when you connect using NS 6.

If you look at that link mozilla is listed separately. Would NS 6.x be included with Mozilla? It isn't listed on there...

Does it say what OS? It could be Mozilla or Konqueror. The percentage would be high for them unless you are getting a lot of hits from a few people that are using the browser.

Just a thought.. AOL bought Netscape, so maybe it's the AOL browser.

No, because sometimes the AOL browser is listed separately as something like IE5.x (AOL) so it can't be that. Besides, it's still based on IE so I don't know why it would show up as NS compatible.

The reason why this interests me is because [url="http://www.thecounter.com/stats/2001/October/browser.php
"]The counter.com's October stats[/url] have NS comp. listed as the second most popular browser at 10%.... I don't think it's usually that high for my sites but I'll have to check.

Many times that are browser that nobody knows.
But they want to show the web site that they are equal to the netscape browsers.

Many spiders are using this to for to get the webpage where they can work with it.
I Opera you can say what is your User-Agent.
In libwww (Perl) the same.

There are many reasons just pick one.
