LOL! Coming up with a logo for a webmaster site has got to be one of the most difficult graphics tasks out there. It's so hard to think of a symbol that represents webmastering! (and I know from experience...)

The first thing I notice about your site is that it's really lacking contrast. I would try putting the content area on a white background. That might help. Hmmm... orange mouseovers..... I don't think that's working too well since it doesn't appear in the rest of the design at all and seems to clash a bit with the dusty blue. Maybe try darkening your blueish grey a bit and incorporating the orange elsewhere in the site.

I would really like to see more content here. More options on the navbar and something on the front page that tells me what you've got here - maybe highlight new or popular articles or something like that.

One more thing - in IE 5.5 I'm finding that the text is too small, but in NS 6.1 it's too big.

Ok thanks, I will start on that as soon as I can. About the tutorials and portfolio, I would not mind having some help writing them and all.

Also since the logo seems to be on a few peoples minds, is anyone up for creating a new one? I have had about 4 different ones and they all looked pretty bad so I was pretty content with that one. If it does look to overpowering since it may combine with the actual ads, I would appreciate anyone trying to make a new one (I will give credit).

Thanks,

Might be a good option to add a portfolio of peoples web sites, which have good design techniques. This could give some aspiring coders inspiration.

Possibly even some good tutorials would be nice. It's difficult to find good tutorials, which you can print out and refer too later.

Welcome to TWF Jonathan,

First of all can you please help us out by reviewing some of the sites also posted for review, it's not obligatory but it does help out others and they are more likely to help you. It will also give you some ideas for your own site.

Overall not bad, bit dull and perhaps uninviting. Try to get some more warm colours in there and brighten it up a bit. The text in the main part runs too close to the links at the side. Move it further right and it'll also help make the links look more like navigation. One other thing, the logo looks more like it's part of that banner ad which is too overpowering for the rest of the site. I'd say loose the banner and give your logo a bit more umph!

The stylesheets dont show on Net4.7 so instead it looks like the left table is misaligned to the right as cellpadding is at 0 and overlaps slightly

In IE 5 it looks better (has stylesheets) but think the left side needs a box (border) whether it be a color or table border to seperate them.

Also your body margins aren't right for Netscape, it should be: topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" to work in IE and Netscape

not sure if I like that dotted "rip off here" effect, the links being the same as the text make them look not like links, could get confusing.

In netscape 6 the font is BIG, stylesheets work on the links but not the text, font looks like its set to about 4 (default is 3), try use px, instead of pt
