I personally have not used frames for about 3 years now. So I would therefore advise against it.

On the editor question. I think everyone should put a bit of time in on notepad, simply so you know how to code html without any help. This will build your skills at a faster rate. Once you are looking for an editor I would never go past HomeSite 4.5 To my mind it is the best editor out there.

that's my two cents worth...

Thank you for responding.. I figured I would stick to very simple tables for the categories etc for the mall. I want it listed well in the engines and able to bookmark with no problems. I like the simple sites, easier to navigate n that's what i want for the mall. I know what your saying on the html, a few years ago, I didn't know there were editors when I went to put up my first personal home page lol I just knew I wasn't going to use their templates, soooo rest is history, I taught myself html.. I have a few others I can use but I think i'll go back to my trusty friend , notepad... hasn't failed me yet..

Thank you again, your response confirmed what I was hoping to hear .

Frames have been abused a lot in the past, Thats one of the main reasons people dislike them so, another is people cant use them properly. (but I'd choose frames over flash anyday)

If you are choosing frames or tables, then you dont need frames, frames, if done right can enhance a site but with draw backs, search engines, book marking .... where as a bad framed page has nothing but drawbacks, with equals no repeat viewers. when i visit a badly designed frame site, i open the main page in a new window, if that page doesnt have any naviagation, guess what, yep i'm outta there.

Just because you can, doesnt mean you should ...
simple is clean, clean is easy, easy is what we want ...

only two options? Dreamweaver or GoLive hmmmm, I havent used Golive so would pick that, DW (Dreamweaver) can be good for quick layouts but adds so much useless coding that editing it later is nothing but a hassle.

Just because DW and FP are "top line" names, dont disregard the smaller, unknown ones, these can work as well if not better, I wont list any names but there are 100's out there

what ever you decide on, knowing even the basics of HTML will only inhance your skills but above all make you feel good, because YOu did it

good luck
