I can't make out the image very well. Mabye if you don't want an image there have a logo that fits into the colour scheme.

the "a" is a anchor tag, its needs a direction, like <a name>, <a href ...>, like img is to src ...

for a link you have 3 thing happening, the link as new (a new link), the link as visited (a visited link) and link as active (used the link - changes color)

for just the basic link with standard colors you use something like:

they arent case sensitive, then every link you have will have no underline no matter if the link is new, active or has been visited, you can do a lot more with links also,
Style sheet (CSS) basics work on most browsers the same, but some of the advanced stuff doesnt work to well.

what you have above must be included in every page for it to work, OR you can have a .css page which will service your whole site.

in your web pages you have this:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="name.css"> (name can be anything you want)

and then you make that page (name.css) and add your things, this cause being the above, add this into the .css page but dont include the style or comment tags, just include:

A:link {text-decoration: none}
A:active {text-decoration: none}
A:visited {text-decoration: none}

and make sure the file you save ends in .css, not .css.txt as this is a text document.

I agree with what's already been said but would add that as you have saved the 'Pedigree Match' as a jpeg rather than gif there is a fuzzyness to it.

The blue on the 'contact us' stands out like a sore thumb!

cool - i was just testing to see if anyone would notice the slightly reddy background behind the title etc...I didn't notice it at home but when I loaded it at work I found it.

Looks good at first glance, that little graphic is hard to work out, it is a jockey on a horse? maybe lighten it a bit,
A free graphic program like iranview will do it for you if you dont have other graphic programs.

the title image and horse images has a reddy color background under it, try make the title image an invisible gif.

The P is hard to make out like Megan has mentioned.

The temp page loks ok overall but what will the rest of the site be like? will it follow this design?

one last thing, it says "or contact us", who is "us" ? you might want to let your viewers know who you are.

forgot about the style sheet, it doesnt work in Netscape, you have:
<style type="text/css"></style>

you need to define the "a" to something, a:link, a:active, a:visited

1. The font you've used is just a little bit hard to read with the way they've done the "P". I think you could easily edit that to reduce or eliminate the tail along the bottom which makes it looks like a cross between a P and a backwards L.

2. The background - it looks good, but I'm not sure that it's appropriate for the site topic. It looks like a painted canvas to me...

3. Would I be right to assume that your target audience will know what you're talking about here?
