Learn HTML, you will need to eventually, might as well start now. I recommend two books and two web sites:

1. Creating Web Pages For Dummies
2. HTML For Dummies

3. HTMLGoodies.com
4. SitePoint.com

Hi,

I don't use WYSIWYG editor to create webpages. Anyway, I highly recommend that you learn HTML to have a better understanding how it works to create webpages.

One of its advantages is when you see a good design(webpage) and wondering how it's done, then you can view the source code and study it if you know HTML.

In regards to your questions, the below link will provide you with good examples.
