Long story short, if you want to burn a Mac/PC CD-Rom, you have to burn it with a Mac.

This was exactly the problem. I outsourced the burning process, made a new contact, and learned a little lesson

when you try to burn MAC files from a PC burner, the PC doesn't recognize the Mac files so it doesn't burn them.

THis happened to me when I created a Flash projector file for a PC/Mac cd-rom. Both version were autorun and when I burned the master with a Mac, Mac burned both Mac and PC files. When I did the same using a PC Burner, PC only burned the PC files.......

Long story short, if you want to burn a Mac/PC CD-Rom, you have to burn it with a Mac.

I hate Macs but that's the way you have to do it.

Thank for the welcome.

I do know that there is a wide variance in program and hardware standards. My burner was dead in the water until I found NTI cd professional. It works on windows 2000 and xp for the hp 9001i

[runon-sentence]Depending on the age of the burner, and the software you are using, it may be an issue of software and hardware compatibility, even though it doesn't sound like it.[/runon-sentence]

I saw that Keegan. It says "Bootable CD" but when I clicked on it it prompted me to insert a floppy disk. I have worried with this problem for some time now and finally just gave up. Maybe I will run across some info that will help me one day.

Thanks anyway. BTW....welcome to the forum.

I did notice that in my burning software a checkbox for making the disk bootable. Could that be of any help?

outsource!

I'm FTPing the entire project to a local digital imaging firm. The price is right and THEY can deal with the grief!

-taff, waiting for the NEXT bullet to dodge.

Wish I could help you taff. I am still unsuccessful at creating an CD that will autorun on a PC.

Good luck!

That's strange- how were the files named on your CD? Did they have spaces in them, and did all of them end in .html or .htm? I don't think autorun works on mac systems, I think it's only a windows 95 + thing.
