I use Browersizer, from http://www.vasile.com/racecar/stampware/ (freeware)
you run it from your pc after you download it, and you are able to view your page in IE and/or Netscape with 4 screen sizes, web tv, 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768.

I'm always resizing my desktop to check if things fit...
(I run at 1600x1200)

Actually, my video card's (Diamond) software includes a little systray utility that lets me change resolutions with a mouseclick but the javascript thing is still good to know

A useful trick for testing screen resolutions is to type the following into your browser's location bar:

javascript:resizeTo(800,600)

Of course, you can change those numbers to whatever you want. Be sure to remember that the T in "To" is upper case - it won't work otherwise.

Edit: And of course there's no space in javascript - the board is putting that in automatically it seems.

The only program I've tried is something called Browserola which did not impress me at all. The best utility I've found for crossbrowser/crossplatform testing is this place

Another neat utility to add to the list is WebSpeed Optimizer (xat.com) which emulates various modem speeds. Handy if you are on a broadband connection.
