You know it does look more interesting with a blue back ground. How does it look now with this darker blue?

I like the old one too. The new color scheme looks like it could be a beekeeper's website. Blue and yellow looks better.

I prefer the first look. The blue with the yellow is much easier on the eyes and I like that width better. But I like the very top part of the second one.

The new design was a quick 1-hour redesign job. Later I would want to add the newsletter sign up etc and change some graphics.

What about fixing the sites width to 600 pixels? I thought 600 would be all we needed for an online yellow page directory.

I'm a firm believer in "keeping it simple".

Hmmmm.... hard to say. THe new one is cleaner and a little more organized looking, but overall I think I like the old layout better - it's more interesting to look at, less like every other portal site out there. I also like the blue background on the old one as opposed to the black for the new one. The new logo is better though. For some reason the graphic icons along the top are much better looking on the old one - they look overoptimized on the new one. I also like the way you have the search, weather, and newsletter sign-up on the old one

I would probably try to integrate the two designs - use the top half from the new design with the bottom half of the old one (adjusting to match up the table widths of course). Then fix up that copyright statement (green looks crappy), and get rid of that row of links there.
