Check out their information on using style sheets properly without killing lower browsers. Start with issue no. 99.

Additionally, check out webstandards.org for the whole story.

If you use a combination of style sheets and font tags font compatibility is fairly straightforward. Making some of the other components (particularly the DHTML) degrade nicely in 4- browsers will be a bit more difficult. There are a bunch of cross compatible style sheet guides out there. I think webmonkey.com has a good one (if I recall correctly).

You mean to make different style sheets for each and every browser version?

It worked for me also. Style sheets are great but I never suggest relying on them entirely. It would be a little time consuming but not impossible to make this site degradable for v3 browsers and Linux, WebTV, etc.

I'm honestly not sure whether this is a problem with Netscape or whether it's just your computer. When I visited the page in Netscape 4.75, it displayed correctly for me, so I don't know what to tell you...

You might try putting a link in a visible position on the Netscape page so the user can report a problem if they experience it also, that way you can get an idea of the number of people who encounter some sort of problem. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but this is the first I've heard of such an issue.
